By 2001, the fifth-generation Corvette had firmly established itself as a world-class sports car, offering a chassis and powertrain that could rival Europe's best. While the newly introduced hardtop Z06 was dominating the track-focused headlines that year, the Convertible remained the quintessential choice for enthusiasts who wanted to hear the LS1 sing with the top down. This specific example blends the effortless grand touring capability of the automatic convertible with a few aggressive, track-inspired styling cues, making it a distinctive and enjoyable weekend cruiser. Under the long, sweeping hood lies the heart of the C5: an unmodified, original 5.7-liter LS1 V-8.
