1957 Chevrolet Corvette The final year of the second body style of America's sports car, the 1957 Corvette was largely unchanged visually from the '56 model but received several significant power enhancements that marked the year America's sports car truly began laying its roots in performance and racing. 1957 was the first year that the Corvette could be ordered with the legendary 283ci V8 - an engine that would go on to define small-block Chevrolet performance for decades to come.
