The C7 generation of the Chevrolet Corvette, launched for the 2014 model year, marked a significant return to form, reintroducing the iconic Stingray moniker after a hiatus since 1976. Designed to reclaim its mantle as America's sports car, the C7 blended aggressive, fighter-jet inspired styling with a thoroughly modern chassis and powertrain. Its heart, the LT1 V8, was a marvel of direct injection and continuously variable valve timing, delivering robust power while maintaining surprising efficiency. This generation also notably brought back the exposed headlight design, moving away from the pop-up units that defined several previous generations, and introduced a more driver-focused interior, elevating the Corvette's cabin experience to match its performance. In 2016, a total of 40,689 Corvettes were produced, with 26,414 of those being Stingray models. This particular 2016 Corvette Stingray Coupe, finished in the striking Shark Gray Metallic, represents a well-optioned example of the breed. With just under 70,000 miles on the odometer, its 6.2L LT1 V8 engine, factory rated at 455 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, is paired with the desirable 8-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission, an option that cost $1,725 new. This combination allows for a 0-60 mph sprint in a blistering 3.8 seconds. This Stingray also boasts the comprehensive 3LT Preferred Equipment Package, a substantial $9,745 upgrade that elevates the interior with premium materials and advanced features, alongside the sought-after transparent removable roof panel and the performance data recorder option. Only 2,856 Shark Gray Metallic Coupes were produced in 2016, making this a distinct offering. This well-appointed C7 Stingray is an enticing proposition for any enthusiast seeking a modern American performance icon.
