The third-generation Corvette, internally designated C3, burst onto the scene in 1968, drawing heavily from the Mako Shark II concept car and ushering in a dramatic new era for America's sports car. Its distinctive "coke bottle" styling, with pronounced fender arches and a sweeping fastback, captivated a generation. By 1972, the C3 was in its final year before significant changes to bumper designs and engine output, making it a desirable bridge between the chrome-laden muscle car era and the increasingly regulated automotive landscape. These early C3s, particularly convertibles, are celebrated for their purity of design and connection to the Corvette's golden age, embodying a raw, visceral driving experience that defined American performance. This 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible stands as a remarkable, matching-numbers example of that iconic year. With its original 350 V8 engine paired to a smooth automatic transmission, this C3 promises an authentic and engaging drive. While the odometer currently reads 0 miles, this driver-quality Corvette is presented in an exceptionally attractive condition, ready to be enjoyed on the open road. This is a chance to acquire a true piece of Corvette history, ready for its next chapter of spirited motoring.
