2001 Ford Mustang GT Convertible â?" Dual Exhaust, 5-Speed, White over Tan Leather Why This Car Is Special The 2001 Ford Mustang GT Convertible sits near the end of the New Edge generation, a body style that debuted in 1999 and represented a significant visual departure from the Fox-body and SN95 cars that preceded it. The sharper creases, pronounced hood scoop, and more aggressive front fascia gave the Mustang GT a look that held up well throughout its production run â?" and still reads as distinctly Mustang today. For the 2001 model year, Ford continued refining the package, and the GT convertible with a five-speed manual is one of the more engaging configurations available from this era.
