The C5 generation of the Chevrolet Corvette, launched in 1997, marked a significant leap forward for America's sports car. After the long-running C4, the C5 was a clean-sheet design, boasting a hydroformed box frame that dramatically improved structural rigidity, a rear-mounted transaxle for optimal weight distribution, and the all-new LS1 V8 engine. This 5.7-liter powerhouse delivered a robust 345 horsepower, making the C5 a formidable performer capable of 0-60 mph in under five seconds and a top speed exceeding 170 mph. The fixed-roof coupe, introduced in 1999, offered an even stiffer chassis and a more focused driving experience, quickly becoming a favorite among enthusiasts for its blend of everyday usability and genuine sports car capability. This 1999 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe carries on that legacy, presenting a well-preserved example with 69,962 original miles. Originally delivered new by Classic Chevrolet in Morristown, New Jersey, this C5 has clearly been properly cared for throughout its life, a fact supported by its clean Carfax report. Power comes from the legendary LS1 V8, paired with a smooth automatic transmission, making it an ideal grand tourer or a spirited weekend companion. This C5 offers a fantastic opportunity to acquire a milestone Corvette, ready for its next chapter on the open road.
