The 1974 Porsche 911 marks a pivotal year in the model's storied history, inaugurating the G-Series generation that would define the 911 for the next fifteen years. Following the beloved long-hood F-Series, the G-Series introduced significant safety enhancements, most notably the impact bumpers mandated by US regulations, which Porsche ingeniously integrated into the car's iconic lines. This era also saw the introduction of the 2.7-liter engine across the standard lineup, offering a blend of performance and everyday usability that further cemented the 911's reputation as the ultimate sports car. The Targa, with its distinctive roll hoop and removable roof panel, continued to offer an open-air experience without sacrificing the rigidity or safety of the coupe, quickly becoming a favorite among enthusiasts who desired both the thrill of a convertible and the practicality of a fixed-roof car. This particular 1974 Porsche 911 Targa is a striking example, presented in its highly desirable factory-correct Lime Green (137) paint, a vibrant hue that perfectly encapsulates the era's bold aesthetic. The exterior is complemented by a classic black interior, creating a timeless and sporting contrast. Power is delivered through a 915 4-speed manual transaxle, paired with a flat-six cylinder engine featuring fuel injection, ensuring an engaging driving experience. Noteworthy features include four-wheel disc brakes for confident stopping power, a single exhaust outlet, and 15-inch Fuchs-style wheels shod with Kumho tires. This Targa also boasts a wraparound rear glass window and a rear spoiler, enhancing both its visual appeal and aerodynamic profile. With over $18,756.51 in service receipts, this 911 Targa demonstrates a history of meticulous care. This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a vibrant piece of Porsche history, ready to be enjoyed on the open road.
