The Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III, particularly the BJ8 variant, represents the pinnacle of the "Big Healey" lineage, a line of quintessentially British roadsters that captivated enthusiasts from its debut in 1959. Evolving from the earlier 100 and 100-6 models, the 3000 solidified Austin-Healey's reputation for rugged performance and elegant open-top motoring, becoming a dominant force in rallying and a beloved sports car on both sides of the Atlantic. The Mk III, introduced in late 1963, was the most refined and powerful iteration, boasting a significant increase in luxury and a revised 150 bhp engine, making it a true grand tourer. The final BJ8 series, produced until 1967, is especially sought after, featuring a redesigned dashboard, wind-up windows, and a more user-friendly convertible top, marking the dignified end of an iconic era before stricter safety and emissions regulations reshaped the automotive landscape. This stunning 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III BJ8 stands as a testament to that legacy, representing the final production year of the beloved 3000. Showing a mere 22,789 miles, this example is one of just 553 finished in the factory-correct Metallic Golden Beige, a sophisticated hue that perfectly complements its classic lines. Under the hood lies the robust 3.0L 6-cylinder engine paired with a manual transmission, promising an engaging driving experience. Acquired in 2013 from a prominent Austin-Healey collector in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, this car subsequently underwent a comprehensive restoration by Vantage Sportscars in Florida, ensuring its pristine condition. The exterior is beautifully contrasted by a black interior and a matching black soft top, completing its timeless aesthetic. This meticulously restored and well-documented Big Healey offers an unparalleled opportunity to own a significant piece of British motoring history.
