In 1968, Steve McQueen drove a Highland Green Mustang GT through the streets of San Francisco in what became the most famous car chase scene in cinema history. Thirty three years later, Ford decided to build a tribute and do it right. Not just a badge and a stripe, but a complete performance package with a unique intake, tuned suspension, red brake calipers, and a lowered ride height, the whole car designed around the spirit of the movie. The 2001 Bullitt was the first movie tribute car Ford had ever built, and they took it seriously. Each one was individually numbered on the driver side strut tower under the hood. This one is finished in black, one of only three colors offered, and one of 1,818 built in black out of 5,582 total Bullitts produced.
