On a Florida banking in February 1967, three Ferraris crossed the line side by side at the 24 Hours of Daytona. It was a deliberate formation finish, staged on Ford's home soil a year after Ford had beaten Ferrari at Le Mans. The photograph became one of the most famous images in motorsport. Furthermore, more than fifty years later, Ferrari built a car to honour that moment. The Daytona SP3 borrows its proportions and spirit from the 330 P3/4 and 412 P prototypes that raced that day. Moreover, it carries a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 producing 840 PS, the most powerful engine of its kind Ferrari has ever fitted to a road car. Production was limited to 599 examples. This example pairs Rosso Magma with a Blu Elettrico interior, one of the most requested combinations on the car. The exterior red is deep and warm, shifting tone as light moves across the bodywork. Inside, the electric blue creates a contrast that is immediately striking without ever feeling excessive. Furthermore, the car has covered a low mileage and presents in excellent condition throughout. As a result, it offers the rare combination of a sought-after specification and a car that is ready to be used. With the roof panel removed, the cabin opens directly to the sound of the V12 mounted just behind the seats. The seats themselves are fixed to the chassis, with the pedal box moving to meet the driver, a solution taken from competition cars. Furthermore, the blue upholstery gives the cockpit a character entirely its own. Moreover, the Daytona SP3 is one of the last Ferraris of its kind, and its value will only grow as the naturally aspirated V12 disappears from the road.
