The Grand Sport nameplate holds a special place in Corvette history, first appearing in 1963 as Zora Arkus-Duntov's clandestine effort to build five lightweight, race-ready Sting Rays to challenge Shelby's Cobras. While the original program was cut short, the spirit of a track-focused Corvette with wider fenders and enhanced aerodynamics was revived for the C4 generation, and again for the C6. For the C7 generation, the Grand Sport returned as a potent blend of the Stingray's naturally aspirated 6.2L LT1 V8 and the Z06's widebody chassis, suspension, and braking components. It offered a purist's approach to performance, delivering immense grip and track capability without forced induction. This 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Coupe, showing 27,956 miles, embodies that very philosophy. Its muscular widebody stance hints at the serious performance underneath, derived from the Z06, while power comes from the rev-happy 6.2L naturally aspirated V8. Paired with a responsive automatic transmission, this Grand Sport provides an exhilarating driving experience, whether carving canyons or cruising the open road. The final year of C7 production, this Grand Sport represents the culmination of a celebrated generation, combining classic Corvette power with modern track-day prowess. This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a well-maintained example of a performance icon.
