The Grand Sport nameplate first appeared in 1963, a limited-production, race-bred variant of the C2 Corvette intended to challenge Carroll Shelby's Cobras. Only five were ever built, making them legendary collector's items. The spirit of the Grand Sport was revived for the C6 generation and carried into the C7, offering a compelling blend of Z06-derived chassis and aerodynamic enhancements paired with the naturally aspirated power of the Stingray. This created a Corvette that was equally at home on the street or the track, lauded for its balanced performance and aggressive wide-body stance without the supercharged complexity. This 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport coupe, with 20,439 miles on the odometer, embodies that ethos perfectly. Under the hood lies the potent 6.2L LT1 V8 engine, delivering 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, all channeled through an engaging manual transmission. The wider fenders, aggressive aero, and track-tuned suspension differentiate the Grand Sport from its Stingray sibling, providing enhanced grip and stability. For the enthusiast seeking a visceral driving experience and track-day capability in a proven package, this Grand Sport presents an enticing proposition.
