The Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport nameplate carries a legendary weight, tracing its roots back to Zora Arkus-Duntov’s clandestine racing program in the early 1960s. Tasked with building a lightweight, competition-focused Corvette to take on European marques, Duntov’s team produced just five original Grand Sports before GM's corporate anti-racing policy intervened. Decades later, the C6 generation resurrected the moniker as a wide-body, naturally aspirated performance variant, a spiritual successor that bridged the gap between the standard Corvette and the mighty Z06. For the C7 generation, the Grand Sport continued this tradition, blending the wider fenders and aggressive styling of the Z06 with the naturally aspirated 6.2L LT1 V8, offering an intoxicating blend of track capability and everyday drivability, complete with enhanced cooling and braking. This 2017 C7 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, presented in a menacing black-on-black scheme, elevates that legacy to an entirely new level. With a mere 3,750 miles on the odometer, this coupe is far more than a well-preserved example; it’s a professionally built, supercharged performance machine. Vengeance Racing meticulously transformed this Grand Sport, installing a forged engine designed to reliably handle the significant power increase from its supercharger. The automatic transmission ensures seamless power delivery, allowing the driver to fully exploit the potent V8 while retaining the refined street manners and comfort expected from a modern Corvette. This is a meticulously engineered Grand Sport, ready to deliver exhilarating performance with the confidence of a professionally executed build.
