The Porsche Boxster, first introduced in 1996 as the 986 generation, marked a pivotal moment for Porsche. It was a return to their mid-engine roadster roots, harkening back to the 550 Spyder, and offered a more accessible entry point into the brand's performance world. The third-generation 981, launched in 2012, refined the Boxster's formula to near perfection. It boasted a longer wheelbase, wider track, and a stiffer chassis, translating into an even more engaging driving experience. Its naturally aspirated flat-six engines were celebrated for their linear power delivery and sonorous exhaust notes, while the styling matured into a timeless design that continues to impress. This 2016 Boxster represents the culmination of the 981 generation with the desirable Black Edition package. Limited in production, the Black Edition elevated the standard Boxster with a host of aesthetic and performance enhancements, all finished in a striking black motif. This particular example, with 57,000 miles, maintains its stealthy allure with a deep black exterior that presents beautifully. Under the rear decklid lies the naturally aspirated 2.7-liter flat-six engine, paired with a seamless automatic transmission, delivering its characteristic power and an intoxicating soundtrack. The convertible top operates flawlessly, and the interior is remarkably clean, reflecting a history of diligent care. This Boxster Black Edition offers a compelling blend of open-air exhilaration and Porsche's renowned driving dynamics.
