The 997 generation of the Porsche 911, launched in 2004, marked a significant return to classic 911 aesthetics after the more polarizing 996. While retaining the water-cooled engine architecture, the 997 brought back the iconic round headlights and a more chiseled, traditional profile that instantly resonated with enthusiasts. The Carrera 4S variant, in particular, combined the wider body shell of the Turbo with the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine, delivering a potent 355 horsepower. Its all-wheel-drive system provided enhanced traction and stability, making it a supremely capable grand tourer and a thrilling sports car, bridging the gap between the standard Carrera and the more extreme Turbo models. This particular 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Convertible exemplifies the best of the 997 generation, offering the exhilaration of open-air motoring with the added security of all-wheel drive. With 61,712 miles on its gasoline-powered 3.8-liter engine, this Carrera 4S remains a compelling driver's car. The direct engagement of its manual transmission allows the driver to fully exploit the 355 horsepower, making every shift a tactile pleasure and every twisty road an invitation. This well-maintained example presents a fantastic opportunity to acquire a highly desirable 997-generation Carrera 4S, ready for its next chapter of spirited driving.
