When the C6 Corvette debuted in 2005, it marked a significant evolution for America's sports car. Shedding the C5's pop-up headlights for fixed units, the C6 offered a sharper, more contemporary aesthetic while retaining the iconic long-hood, short-deck proportions. Crucially, it introduced the formidable LS2 V8, a 6.0-liter powerhouse delivering 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, solidifying the Corvette's reputation as a world-beating performance machine. This generation also saw the return of a more compact footprint, bringing the Corvette closer in size to its European rivals while maintaining its distinctly American character. This 2005 Chevrolet Corvette, finished in a classic black, exemplifies the C6's enthusiast appeal. With 89,120 miles on its odometer, it features the desirable 6.0L LS2 V8 paired with a proper 6-speed manual transmission, offering an engaging driving experience. Equipped with the Preferred Equipment Group (1SB), it boasts amenities like a transparent removable roof panel, heads-up display, Bose 7-speaker premium sound, dual-zone automatic climate control, and heated front seats. Performance enhancements include a CORSA Performance Extreme exhaust system, a skip-shift eliminator, and a short-throw shifter, while recent maintenance, including a new harmonic balancer, radiator, and rear differential carrier, ensures this Corvette is ready for its next chapter. This well-maintained and thoughtfully upgraded C6 represents an exciting opportunity to experience a modern classic.
