In the early 1990s, Ferrari sought to redefine its grand touring lineage, a segment traditionally occupied by elegant 2+2 coupes that blended blistering performance with genuine comfort. The 456, introduced in 1992, was Maranello's answer, replacing the Testarossa-derived 412. Penned by Pininfarina's Pietro Camardella, under the direction of Lorenzo Ramaciotti, its design was a masterclass in understated elegance—a stark contrast to the flamboyant supercars of its era, yet unmistakably Ferrari. Beneath its sculpted hood lay a magnificent 5.5-liter F116 V12 engine, a direct descendant of the legendary Colombo V12, producing 436 horsepower. This was the most powerful road car engine Ferrari had ever produced at the time, capable of propelling the 456 to nearly 190 mph, making it the world's fastest four-seater. Its name, derived from the displacement of a single cylinder (456 cc), paid homage to classic Ferrari nomenclature, while its sophisticated balance of speed and luxury cemented its place as a modern classic. This 1998 Ferrari 456 M GTA (Modificata, Gran Turismo Automatica) represents the refined evolution of the model, featuring subtle aerodynamic improvements and an updated interior that enhanced its grand touring credentials. With a mere 28,409 miles on the odometer, this particular example has been sparingly enjoyed, preserving its pristine condition. The sophisticated blue exterior paintwork beautifully complements the luxurious tan interior, a timeless combination that exudes Italian elegance. Power is delivered by its formidable 12-cylinder engine, paired with a smooth automatic transmission, offering a more relaxed yet still exhilarating driving experience for those long continental journeys. This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a low-mileage example of Ferrari's last front-engined, rear-transaxle V12 2+2 with pop-up headlights.
