The Ferrari Testarossa, a name synonymous with 1980s excess and poster-car status, evolved significantly with the introduction of the 512 TR in 1991. While visually similar, the 512 TR, which stands for "Testarossa" and "Rear Longitudinal" (referring to the engine layout), was a substantial refinement. Ferrari engineers relocated the engine and gearbox lower in the chassis for improved weight distribution and a lower center of gravity, enhancing handling dynamics considerably. The iconic 4.9-liter flat-12 engine received a significant power bump to 428 horsepower, thanks to new intake and exhaust systems, as well as Bosch Motronic M2.7 engine management, propelling it to speeds well over 180 mph. Pininfarina subtly updated the design, integrating the front bumper more smoothly and adding larger 18-inch wheels, marking a more mature and aerodynamically efficient aesthetic. Of the 2,280 Ferrari 512 TRs produced globally between 1991 and 1994, a mere 408 were originally delivered to North America. This particular 1994 example, showing 23,790 miles, represents the final year of production, with only 24 units making their way to North America that year. What truly sets this 512 TR apart is its striking Giallo Modena exterior over a Nero interior, a truly rare combination. Among the limited 1994 North American allocation, it is understood that only three were finished in this vibrant shade of Giallo Modena, making this a particularly exceptional find for collectors. This is an opportunity to acquire a highly desirable iteration of Ferrari's definitive flat-12 supercar, presented in an exceptionally rare and commanding color specification.
