The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2, produced from 1984 to 1989, represents a pivotal moment in the iconic model's history. Following the SC, this generation reintroduced the revered "Carrera" nameplate, signifying a return to performance prominence. Its naturally aspirated 3.2-liter flat-six engine, a development of the earlier 3.0-liter unit, delivered a robust 207 horsepower for the US market, offering a blend of accessible power and bulletproof reliability that cemented its status as one of the most desirable air-cooled 911s. Paired exclusively with the G50 or, in earlier examples like this, the venerable 915 five-speed manual transmission, the Carrera 3.2 offered an unadulterated driving experience, embodying the purity of the rear-engined sports car before the advent of more complex electronics. Its timeless G-series body design, with its distinctive whale tail spoiler (when optioned) and Fuchs wheels, remains instantly recognizable and highly sought after by enthusiasts worldwide. This 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe, showing 144,717 miles, exemplifies the enduring appeal of the 3.2-liter generation. Finished in a sophisticated White Gold Metallic over a warm Brown leather upholstery, this example features the period-correct 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, with wider 8-inch rears complementing the 7-inch fronts. Power is delivered through the renowned 915 five-speed manual transmission, connecting the driver directly to the characterful flat-six engine. Creature comforts include a power-operated sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, and air conditioning, which has been upgraded with a new Kuehl system for improved performance. The seller notes excellent results from recent compression and leak-down tests, underscoring the health of its legendary powerplant. This Carrera 3.2 offers a compelling opportunity to experience one of Porsche's most beloved air-cooled icons.
