The C4 generation of the Chevrolet Corvette, launched in 1984, marked a radical departure from its C3 predecessor, ushering in a new era of performance and technology for America's sports car. Designed with a focus on aerodynamics and a significantly stiffer chassis, the C4 aimed to reclaim the Corvette's standing as a world-class performer. The 1986 model year is particularly notable as it was the first year for the Convertible since 1975, and all Corvettes that year featured Bosch ABS as standard, a significant safety advancement. With its distinctive wedge shape and digital dash, the C4 quickly became an icon of 1980s automotive design, blending cutting-edge features with classic V8 muscle. This striking 1986 Chevrolet Corvette coupe, finished in a sophisticated grey, exemplifies the enduring appeal of the C4. Showing a remarkably low 59,000 miles on the odometer, this example has been thoughtfully maintained, benefiting from a recent drivetrain update that ensures its legendary 5.7L V8 engine and manual transmission deliver power smoothly and reliably. The current owner has enjoyed it for weekend drives, appreciating its sleek lines and engaging performance, a testament to the C4's enduring drivability. With its low mileage and refreshed mechanicals, this C4 Corvette offers an enticing blend of classic 80s style and modern reliability for its next enthusiast owner.
