The Porsche 911 SC, produced from 1978 to 1983, represented a pivotal moment in the 911's history, solidifying its reputation for robust performance and everyday usability after the tumultuous G-series era. Initially conceived as a more accessible model, the "Super Carrera" quickly became a favorite among enthusiasts, blending the classic 911 silhouette with a reliable 3.0-liter flat-six engine. While never factory-offered with a widebody or forced induction, the SC's strong chassis and straightforward mechanicals made it a prime candidate for bespoke modifications, often drawing inspiration from the legendary 930 Turbo. These custom builds, particularly from the late 1990s, allowed owners to explore the outer limits of air-cooled performance, creating unique machines that combined classic aesthetics with modern power. This 1982 Porsche 911 SC is a stunning testament to that era of custom craftsmanship, featuring a widebody conversion and a twin-turbocharged heart. Believed to have been built in the late 90s by RPM shop owner Jay Richardson, this Pacific Blue Metallic coupe has covered 83,000 miles and presents as a meticulously developed enthusiast's machine. Its original 3.2L engine has been stroked to 3.3 liters, now boasting twin T3 turbos managed by an HKS boost controller and 964 Motronic fuel injection, complete with aftermarket knock sensors. Power is routed through a G50 5-speed manual transmission, a desirable upgrade for enhanced driveability. This year, the car received a comprehensive engine-out top-end refresh by Porsche Jacksonville, a testament to its ongoing care. Period-correct Kinesis 2-piece staggered 17-inch wheels, wrapped in new Toyo tires, complete the aggressive widebody stance, while a rear coilover conversion enhances handling. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a meticulously maintained, high-performance air-cooled legend.
