The C3 Chevrolet Corvette, launched in 1968, represented a dramatic stylistic departure from its predecessors, embracing a "coke bottle" silhouette inspired by the Mako Shark II concept car. Throughout its lengthy production run, it evolved from chrome-bumpered muscle to a more refined grand tourer. By 1979, the C3 was in its eleventh year of production, and despite the challenges of the late 1970s, it achieved its best-ever sales year, moving over 53,000 units. The '79 model year saw subtle refinements, including a new front spoiler and revised seats, further cementing its status as America's sports car. This 1979 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe embodies that late-C3 era, presenting with 64,440 miles on the odometer. While the engine details are not specified, it is paired with an automatic transmission, emphasizing its cruiser credentials. This example offers a chance to experience the iconic design and driving feel of the C3, a generation that defined the Corvette for over a decade. This Corvette represents an accessible entry into classic American sports car ownership.
