The Porsche 911SC, produced from 1978 to 1983, marked a significant evolution in the long-running G-series generation. Positioned as a more accessible and robust offering, the SC (Super Carrera) brought a new level of everyday usability and reliability to the 911 lineup, largely thanks to its 3.0-liter aluminum flat-six engine. While initially met with some skepticism from purists yearning for the Carrera RS, the SC quickly proved its mettle, becoming a beloved platform for both spirited driving and customization. Its strong chassis and timeless silhouette have made it a prime candidate for bespoke builds, particularly those that blend modern performance with the classic aesthetics of earlier long-hood 911s. This 1978 Porsche 911SC Coupe exemplifies such a transformation, having undergone a comprehensive four-year refurbishment and modification project culminating in May 2026. Stripped to bare metal and reimagined as a driver-focused backdate, this particular example is a masterclass in blending iconic design with contemporary engineering. Power comes from a 964-sourced 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine, paired with a rebuilt 915 manual transaxle featuring an OS Giken limited-slip differential for an engaging driving experience. The exterior, finished in a striking satin Casablanca Beige Metallic, boasts a full steel Turbo-style widebody conversion and backdated front and rear bodywork, riding on staggered 17” Fuchs-style wheels. Inside, the cabin has been extensively reworked with black leather and Alcantara, a painted carbon fiber tub, Sparco SPX carbon-fiber bucket seats, and a MOMO carbon-fiber steering wheel, all complemented by a backdated metal dashboard. With just 300 miles accumulated since its completion, this extensively modified 911SC backdate represents a unique opportunity to acquire a meticulously crafted restomod that pays homage to Porsche's heritage while delivering exhilarating modern performance.
