The C3 generation of the Chevrolet Corvette, launched in 1968, brought a dramatic, Mako Shark-inspired design that would define the American sports car for decades. By 1978, the Corvette was celebrating its 25th anniversary, a milestone marked by special editions and a redesigned fastback rear window that significantly improved luggage space and rear visibility. This era saw the Corvette evolve from a raw muscle car to a more refined grand tourer, adapting to changing emissions regulations while retaining its iconic V8 power and unmistakable presence. This 1978 Corvette Coupe exemplifies that transition, presenting a classic C3 silhouette with a significant upgrade under the hood. Power comes from a robust GM Performance 350 H.O. V-8 engine, delivering more contemporary performance than its original powerplant. Paired with a smooth automatic transmission, this Corvette promises an engaging yet comfortable driving experience. Showing 38,242 miles on the odometer, this example has been enjoyed but remains in solid used condition, ready for its next chapter. For the enthusiast seeking a classic Corvette with modern V8 punch, this is an enticing opportunity.
