The 1978 model year marked a significant milestone for the Chevrolet Corvette, celebrating its 25th anniversary with a host of styling updates and two special editions. This was the first year for the iconic "fastback" rear window, a design change that not only modernized the C3's profile but also improved cargo space and rear visibility. While often associated with the peak of the Malaise era, the '78 Corvette still offered a compelling package of American sports car performance and unmistakable style, solidifying its place as a quintessential classic and a symbol of its time. This particular 1978 Corvette, finished in classic white, exemplifies the enduring appeal of the C3 generation. With 67,000 miles on its odometer, it retains its original 350 cubic-inch V8 engine, paired with a smooth automatic transmission, offering a quintessential period driving experience. Recent maintenance includes a tune-up, an oil change, and the installation of brand-new tires, ensuring it's ready for the open road. While the air conditioning currently doesn't function and there's a crack in the passenger-side windshield, the car otherwise presents as a well-maintained driver, fresh off an enjoyable run at Cruisin' The Coast. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a classic American icon, ready for its next chapter of enthusiast ownership.
