The 1978 Chevrolet Corvette marked a significant milestone for America's sports car, celebrating its 25th anniversary with a host of styling updates and a special edition package. This was the first year for the iconic fastback rear window, a design cue that dramatically improved aerodynamics and modernized the C3 generation's profile. Production reached a record-breaking 46,776 units, reflecting the model's enduring popularity and Chevrolet's commitment to delivering accessible performance. The 25th Anniversary Edition, distinguished by its unique two-tone silver paint scheme, instantly became a collectible, symbolizing a quarter-century of Corvette heritage. This particular 1978 25th Anniversary Corvette, with 84,298 miles on the odometer, stands out with its highly desirable L82 350 engine paired with a manual transmission — a combination sought after by enthusiasts for its engaging driving experience. While the L82 was the more potent engine option for '78, this example further enhances its spirited character with aftermarket headers and an upgraded exhaust, promising an exhilarating soundtrack to match its performance. Recent maintenance includes a new AC compressor, headlight accumulators, right window motor, a rebuilt carburetor, and refreshed ignition components, ensuring this classic is ready for the road. This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a well-maintained, driver-focused example of the beloved 25th Anniversary Corvette.
