The third-generation Corvette, internally designated C3, burst onto the scene in 1968, radically departing from its predecessors with a striking, Stingray-inspired "Coke bottle" design that would become an icon of American muscle and style. This generation carried the torch of performance through a tumultuous era, evolving its powertrain offerings and refining its chassis. By 1972, the C3 was in its final year before significant changes to its front and rear bumper designs, making it a desirable "chrome bumper" example, retaining the pure, aggressive lines envisioned by Zora Arkus-Duntov and Bill Mitchell. These early C3s, particularly the convertibles, represent a sweet spot for collectors and drivers alike, offering a visceral connection to the golden age of American sports cars. This 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible embodies that spirit, presented in the sophisticated Steel Cities Gray, a color that perfectly complements its muscular lines. With 94,000 miles on the odometer, this is a prime example of a driver-quality classic, ready to be enjoyed on winding roads or sunny cruises without a hint of hesitation. The black vinyl interior provides a classic contrast, while the black vinyl convertible top ensures fair-weather enjoyment is always just a latch away. Power is delivered through a smooth automatic transmission, making it an effortless cruiser for any enthusiast. This Corvette offers the next owner a chance to experience a true American legend from behind the wheel.
