The C3 Chevrolet Corvette, launched in 1968, represented a radical departure from its C2 Sting Ray predecessor, ushering in a new era of aggressive, "coke bottle" styling inspired by the Mako Shark II concept car. The 1972 model year holds particular significance as it marked the final year for chrome bumpers at both ends and removable chrome grilles, as well as the last year for the desirable fiber-optic light monitoring system. It was also the last year that both the LS5 454 big-block and the LT-1 350 small-block were offered, cementing its place as a transitional and highly collectible iteration before emissions regulations began to significantly impact performance. This 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible presents a unique opportunity for the enthusiast looking to craft their personalized vision. While currently without an engine, its original 4-speed Muncie manual transmission remains in place, connected to a rock-solid birdcage frame — a crucial foundation for any restoration. The car features a non-original L88 hood, hinting at a past or future performance build, and the odometer reads 99,999 miles. Finished in a color that awaits your choice, this Corvette offers a clean, clear title and a robust platform ready for its next chapter. This is an ideal canvas for a passionate builder to create their ultimate classic Corvette.
